Lansaran dance of the Murut community
Murut people is the third largest ethnic group in Sabah, the Murut include three percent of the state population. Traditionally, they occupy the northern inland regions of Borneo. They also are the last of Sabah's ethnic groups to renounce headhunting. Now, they are growers of upland rice and cassava, while using a blowpipe hunting and fishing. Most indigenous tribes in Sabah, their traditional clothing is decorated with striking beadwork.
dance Magunatip
This is a traditional dance of the Murut community Kuhijau quarter (Kwijau). Magunatip derived from the word 'sandwich' which means flops. It is this dance dancer legs wedged or sandwiched between two pieces of wood (bamboo) if being trapped. This dance usually does not require any instrumental music because the sound of bamboo that crashed together will create a strong sound and rhythm and cadence that menarik.Tarian Magunatip aims to enliven a ceremony held.

Murut tribe is famous for its dance lansaran. This dance is only performed in special floor measuring about 81 square feet, built in the middle of the longhouse made of round wood use. Round timber fitted specifically multi-layered so that can bounce like "spring.
highlight of this dance is exchanged poem rope marks deepening friendship. During the past dance was held to celebrate the return of the hero who has achieved victory after fighting on the battlefield.

Other quarters: Quarter Momogun Rungus Rungus Dusun also known as the Sea or Dusun Dayak. Momogun Rungus tribe inhabited the western coast of Kudat Kudat east coast, the Gulf Marudu, Pitas to the BCS and the islands around Kudat. Most Momogun Rungus tribe was converted to Christianity.
Monggigol Sumundai Dance
Dance Momogun Rungus tribe danced by a man and several women. Dance-Mongigol named Sumundai was accompanied by gongs.Musical instruments used consisted of 4 gongs and drums called tontog. The women will narrow shoulders with each other and move the wrist with slow steps and soft. When men and women dancing together, it's called "miandak" Rungus language. This Mongigol Sumundai dance-danced when the Harvest Festival, spirit worship rituals, weddings, deaths, entertainment, or as a special reception.
